Joseph Dalton Hooker

Joseph Dalton Hooker was arguably the most important British botanist of the nineteenth century. A traveler and plant-collector, he was one of Charles Darwin’s closest friends and eventually became director of Britain’s Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
